Cork City remained at the bottom of the Premier Division after a 2-1 defeat to St. Patrick's Athletic.

The Leesiders started the game terribly and were two goals down inside the first 10 minutes as Gearoid Morrissey's first-half strike wasn't enough to get the home side back into the contest.

Neale Fenn will have nightmares about the way his team started the match as Alan Bennett turned a corner into his own net in the eighth minute.

Two minutes later, another terrible defensive error saw Jordan Gibson complete an easy finish and in truth, Cork were lucky not to find themselves further behind after the first half-hour.

Fenn made a couple of changes in the first-half and it had the desired impact as Morrissey found the net on the stroke of half-time to get the home side back into the game.

However, a goalless second-half means Cork City remain bottom of the Premier Division as Pats go up to fourth in the table.
