Cork City's suffered their 10th defeat of the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division season as they were comfortably beaten 4-1 by Derry City at Turner's Cross on Friday evening.

Derry took the lead with 11 minutes on the clock as David Parkhouse's powerful shot beat Mark McNulty and found the bottom right corner.

They made it 2-0 when Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe volleyed home from close range before he made it 3-0 on the half hour when he slotted home the rebound after seeing his penalty saved.

Cork's task became even more difficult before the hour mark as Daire O'Connor was dismissed for a second yellow card and the Candystripes soon took full advantage as Ogedi-Uzokwe completed his hat trick with a fine header to make it 4-0.

The Leesiders grabbed a late consolation through Graham Cummins but it couldn't prevent them from stretching their winless run to five games whilst Derry, on the other hand, strengthened their bid to finish fourth.
