Cork City remain just two points behind Dundalk in the race for the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division title as they comfortably defeated Bray Wanderers 4-0 at Turner’s Cross on Friday evening.

The champions made the perfect start as they edged in front after just four minutes when Jimmy Keohane coolly slotted Barry McNamee’s brilliantly through ball past the onrushing keeper Evan Moran.

City remained in control of proceedings and they deservedly doubled their advantage on the brink of half time as Sean McLoughlin’s superbly drilled the ball past the keeper as it broke to him inside the penalty area.

John Caulfield’s side added a third just past the hour mark as Graham Cummins grabbed his ninth league goal of the season, tapping in from a couple of yards after the Bray keeper spilled Kieran Sadlier’s in swinging cross.

And City completed the scoring, making it back to back 4-0 wins against Bray in the process, with 15 minutes remaining as Garry Buckley nodded home Karl Sheppard’s excellent cross at the back post.
