Cork City warmed up for the FAI Cup final with Dundalk in terrific style as they comprehensively defeated Bray Wanderers 5-1 in their final SSE Airtricity League Premier Division match of the season.

City took the lead after 21 minutes when Kieran Sadlier headed home Barry McNamee’s cross from a few yards shortly before Gearoid Morrissey made it two when he drilled the ball into the bottom left corner following a surging run from Shane Griffin.

Sadlier made it 3-0 when he crashed in an excellent strike off the right post before McNamee added a fourth before the half time break when he fired a loose ball into the roof of the net from a few yards.

Sadlier completed his hat-trick shortly after the restart when he blasted home Griffin’s pullback but Bray would net a consolation moments later with Jake Ellis finishing coolly when through on goal.

The win sees City make it four wins on the bounce heading into the cup final while they also end the league season with a point more than last season’s title-winning campaign.
