Bohemians booked their place in the semi-finals of the Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup after stunning Derry City at the Brandywell Stadium in a midweek fixture.

The Gypsies have been in fine form of late and they never looked shook in the early exchanges when the hosts came at them, like when Ronan Hale unloaded a shot at goal.

In fact, it was Bohs who looked the more likely to score the first goal with Daniel Kelly and Kevin Devaney going close. That was until they did actually score - just before the interval - when Dan Casey headed in a Devaney delivery.

Derry goalkeeper Ger Doherty was in inspired form, pulling off a number of great saves, but there was little he could do in the second period when Dinny Corcoran broke free and slotted the ball into the net.

The Candystripes did hit back through Ally Roy and they rallied for a period, but Bohs stood firm with goalkeeper Shane Supple making a fine stop from Hale.

A final goal killed the tie off as Corcoran converted a rebound from a shot that Kelly forced Doherty into making. It was a deserved win for the Dublin side who will now meet holders Cork City in the final four.
