Sligo Rovers will play Premier Division football once again in 2018 after they drew 0-0 with Drogheda United at United Park.

The visitors had the better of the opening half without testing Drogheda keeper Stephen McGuinness but they did have the ball cleared off the line early in the second period.

Drogheda carried a threat of their own as Ryan McEvoy's header beat Shaun Patton in goal but Kyle McFadden was on the line to clear the danger. Both sides squandered chances to win it late with Vinny Faherty culpable on more than one occasion but it mattered little as Galway failed to defeat Dundalk, leaving Sligo safe.

As for Drogheda, they will be looking to rebuild once again in the First Division after a disastrous return to the top-flight.
