Derry City progressed to the Extra.ie FAI Cup quarter-finals thanks to a late-show at Drogheda United.

Just as it looked like there would be extra-time at United Park, Ciaran Harkin and Stephen Mallon scored in the last minutes of the match to seal a 2-0 win.

With very few clear-cut opportunities, Derry started to the pin the home side back in the second-half and they made the break-through in the 89th minute of the match.

A fantastic flowing move saw Colm Horgan get down the right and his low cross found the right foot of Harkin who turned the ball home.

Two minutes later and into stoppage time, Harkin turned provider as he found Mallon in the area who slotted home to seal Derry's quarter-final spot despite a spirited display from the First Division outfit.
