Shamrock Rovers cemented their grip on third place as they defeated Drogheda United 2-0 at United Park.

Despite dominating possession, it was Drogheda arguably had the better of the first-half chances with Stephen Elliott twice going close for the hosts.
Rovers carried a greater goal threat after the break and they took the lead on 53’ minutes as Miele squared for the unmarked Finn who had the simple task of tapping home form eight yards.
The Hoops clinched victory with 20 minutes to go as Miele exchanged passes with Donna inside the Drogheda box before coolly slotting past McGuinness.
