Drogheda United came from 2-0 down to rescue a point at home to Galway United. The Tribesmen, looking to cut the gap to Drogheda to three points in the play-offs, raced into a two goal lead through Eoin McCormack's header and a Kevin Farragher own

There was nothing to separate Drogheda United and Galway United as the sides played out a pulsating 2-2 draw.

Drogheda had taken the lead early on through Adam Wixted's fine solo strike with both sides missing a number of chances in an open encounter.

Galway's pressure eventually told on 81 minutes as substitute Padraic Cunningham collected a ball and spun his marker before firing through the legs of Stephen McGuinness.

Drogheda thought they had secured all three points in the final minute when Sean Brennan picked out Wixted in the penalty area and he fired high into the roof of the net but the celebrations were soon cut short.

From the kick-off, a long ball was sent into the box and it was missed by everyone to leave Jesse Devers with the simple task of diverting the ball beyond McGuinness.
