Dundalk were held to a scoreless draw by a resolute and hard working Bray Wanderers as Dundalk's killer instinct was found wanting tonight in Oriel Park.

Robbie Benson came close for the Lilywhites on two occasions but to no avail as they had to settle for a point. Dundalk had the early exchanges with Stephen Folan flashing his shot across the face of goal only for it to go wide.

Jamie McGrath was next to try his luck with the midfielder collecting the ball on the edge of the area from Gannon and curling a great effort which was saved well by Aaron Dillon in the Bray goal.

It wasn't all one way traffic with Bray captain Gary McCabe trying his luck from distance with a free kick but it went over the bar. The best chance for Bray fell to Cory Galvin which was saved by Rogers and subsequently cleared by Shields, Dundalk immediately broke away but Michael Duffy could not carve out a chance of note.

Before the break a delightful cross from Jarvis was met by Benson on the six yard line but the keeper made a brilliant save to tip it over the bar. The second half had very little chances of note but a glancing header by Krisztian Adorjan was narrowly tipped over the bar.

Aaron Greene broke free and took a shot from a tight angle only for Rogers to save well to keep Dundalk in the tie. Dundalk piled on the pressure with Shields nearly stealing it at the end from a Duffy cross but a share of the spoils was given as Dundalk left frustrated by Bray.
