Dundalk got back to winning ways thanks to a hard worked 2-0 victory over Bohemians.

Bravery and taking your chances were the tonic of the day as David McMillan and Michael Duffy produced the goals and the goods for the home side to keep the chase of the seemingly rampant Cork City.

The home side took the game to Bohemians with wingers Jamie McGrath and Michael Duffy setting their stall out early and causing the Bohemians defence plenty of bother.

The expectant home crowd didn't have long to wait as in the 9th minute a brilliant through ball by Michael Duffy released Patrick McEleney who sent in a cross for McMillan to head down low and send it past Supple in the Bohemians goal.

Dundalk continued to press with Gartland, McEleney and Duffy all going close only to be denied by the inspired Bohemians custodian. However the pick of the saves came when Sean Hoares clever back heel nearly deceived him and forced a great reaction save.

Dundalk continued the second half much like the first with a great shot from O'Donnell forced Supple to tip it wide for a corner as Dundalk looked for safety in a second goal. It came in the 66th minute when Michael Duffy with a brilliant turn and shot which Supple couldn't get a hand to it as it nestled into the bottom right hand corner.

In what was a frustrating night for Bohemians and Keith Long's men the Dundalk defence reduced the attacking options to long range shots and free kicks with Rogers once again showing the form that gave him plaudits last year.

Stephen Kenny will be happy with his side tonight while Long will be looking to improve on aspects of his teams performance tonight.
