Dundalk got back to winning ways thanks to a 3-2 win over Shelbourne at Oriel Park.

The Lilywhites started in familiar fashion with an absolute screamer from Michael Duffy in the fifth minute to give the home side the lead.

That lead was doubled just six minutes later as Brian Gartland headed home a Sean Murray corner and that seemingly had the home side cruising.

However, in the 20th minute, Dan Byrne headed home from a corner to put Shelbourne back into the game.

And, they were level just four minutes later. The referee adjudged Brian Gartland to have fouled Ciaran Kilduff in the area and Georgie Poynton fired home the penalty to bring the two sides level.

Dundalk continued to create chances after the break and they hit the winner in the 59th minute. Shelbourne lost the ball in midfield and Greg Sloggett fired home another incredible effort to put Dundalk back into the lead and seal an important three points.
