Cobh Ramblers have won at Finn Park for the first time since 2007 to extend their run to 3 consecutive wins while also halting Harps' run of 5 games unbeaten.

Cian Leonard got the only goal of a lacklustre affair to jump his side into 7th with Harps remaining in 4th. Boosted by their recent run of results, Harps started on the front foot and Jesse Devers had a chance early on but his close range shot at the back post was blazed just over.

Clear cut chances were had to come by with neither keeper being called into action as the half wore on but that soon changed. Tommy McBride fashioned Harps' first shot on target after calls to shoot from the fans but his effort from distance lacked power as Paul Hunt saved.

Cobh fashioned their first chance shortly after and took the lead. David Hurley had acres of space as he passed it through the defence to Cian Leonard who also had space for days as he slotte past Ciaran Gallagher who got a slight touch on the ball.

Harps fans thought they were back in the game on the half hour mark after a back post header from Michael O'Connor but it only rippled the side netting. Cobh almost doubled their lead not long after with a speculative effort from Hurley striking the post.

The second half was slow to start and looked quite similar to the first except it was missing a goal. BJ Banda forced a save out of Hunt early on with a driven effort while M.O'Connor had a few efforts thwarted by the Cobh stopper.

Most notably the effort in the last minute to deny Harps a late draw, Mark Coyle lofted a ball foward in the dying seconds and M.O'Connor from very close in struck the ball but unt saved it in amongst the bodies to earn Cobh the win.
