Shamrock Rovers extended their lead at the top of the table to 7 points but with two games more played after a dramatic late win over Finn Harps at Finn Park.  Greg Bolger scored in the 85th minute to send the away fans crazy as Finn Harps still go

Shamrock Rovers got their second half of the season off to a good start with a 1-0 victory away at Finn Harps.

Michael O'Connor scored the winning goal just before the half time whistle. The win moves them up to 4th in table while Harps stay in 8th.

The first half began in a bright fashion with both sides testing the opposing keeper. Eddie Dsane looked dangerous for Finn Harps on the counter and his pace caused a number of problems but it was Shamrock Rovers who took the lead on the 43rd minute.

A Darren Meenan cross was well met by O'Connor inside the area and the ball looped into the corner to give his side the lead before the interval.

The second half wasn't exactly the best 45 minutes of football as neither side really created anything concrete bar a Sam Bone shot which just missed the upright, seconds after he came off the bench. Harps pressed late but Stephen Bradley's side held out for the away win and clean sheet.
