Finn Harps defeated Cabinteely 1-0 at Finn Park in a dull affair with very few shots on target throughout the game.

Dean Casey struck the post shortly after the restart but it was Sam Todd who poked Finn Harps to victory with a close range stab at goal after a corner. The result means that Finn Harps and Cabinteely have swapped places in the league with the hosts now 6th and the visitors 7th.

The first half between these two will not live long in the memory as neither side registered a shot on target, making it a comfortable 45 minutes for both keepers. Paddy McCourt looked bright for Finn Harps, picking passes all over the park but they struggled to creat any concrete chances up until the 38th minute.

Harps upped their game slightly and Mark Timlin looked clear on the right side to cross into the box until Kevin Knight made fantastic tackle to deny the Buncrana man. The only other notable action of the opening 45 minutes was a yellow card for Knight for a foul on Timlin around the 30th minute.

The second half started in a brighter fashion with Dean Casey being denied by the woodwork, he ran from the halfway line, shot roughly 30 yards out and it rebounded off the right hand post.

Casey went close again a few minutes later, a left footer about 25 yards out, it was just wide of the left hand post. Both teams had half chances as the game wore on but it wasn't until the 84th minute that a net was struck.

A corner from the right by Timlin fell into a scramble with BJ Banda getting a touch near the goalline before Sam Todd poked home to give the hosts the lead. Joe Doyle had a late effort blocked as Finn Harps held on to win.
