Conor Melody had the first chance of the game, but his effort from a tight angle was an easy save for Ciaran Gallagher. Carlton Ubaezuono was the next to try his luck after cutting inside from the left but saw his effort palmed over the bar.
Niall McGinley was denied late in the first half after a one-two with John O'Flynn. The second half saw no improvements in terms of action as the game looked to be ending 0-0.
