UCD had 3 concrete chances during the tie and put all 3 away to get a second victory over Finn Harps this season.

The result puts them 7 points clear after a double from Daire O'Connor and another goal in Georgie Kelly's tally.

Mikey Place briefly had Harps back in the game getting a goal to make it 2-1 before Kelly's goal sealed the win, with Devers missing a late spot-kick.

Ciaran O'Connor who was subbed on late in the game, was sent off after only seven minutes on the pitch to add to Harps' woes. Finn Harps had the better of the first half, putting the league leaders under intense pressure.

Mark Timlin and Ciaran Coll both had chances blocked as UCD struggled to get into gear. Harps had a goal disallowed for offside on the 30 minute mark after a shot from Timlin. Mikey Place was interferring with play as the ball rolled in.

The second half started with flair as UCD took an early lead through Daire O'Connor who prodded home after a mistake in the home defence.

He added a second shortly after with a long run, unchallenged before shooting past Gallagher. Harps reduced the deficit 2 minutes later with Place heading in a close range header but UCD put the game to bed with Georgie Kelly converting a Sloggett cross from the right.

The action didn't end there as Finn Harps were awarded a penalty for a foul on C.O'Connor, Jesse Devers stepped up and fired it wide to the right. Ciaran O'Connor, only on the pitch for seven minutes was shown a late red card for two bookable offences as Harps ended the game with 10 men.
