Finn Harps have won 3 out of 3 after the mid-season break and kept 3 clean sheets in the process after beating Longford Town 3-0 at Finn Park.

Nathan Boyle opened the scoring just before the break. Mikey Place added a second from the spot and Tunmise Sobowale put the icing on the cake for Ollie Horgans side. The game was slow to start with Finn Harps getting the first chance, a Mikey Place shot from close range which was well saved by Mick Kelly.

Dylan McGlade looked lively and was creating a lot in the midfield and even had the odd long range shot to test Ciaran Gallagher. Tristan Noack Hofmann had their best chance with a close range header from a corner but Gallagher saved.

Harps had a near chance of their own shortly after with Tunmise Sobowale seeing a turning effort saved at the near post after a pass from Place from the left. The game looked likely to be going into the break all square but Harps had other ideas.

Jacob Borg crossed the ball in from the left and Nathan Boyle got a deft header on it to lift it over Kelly and into the far side of the net. Harps looked to start where they left off after the restart and had a penalty on the hour mark after a foul in the area by Meenan.

Mikey Place stepped up and blasted home into the top left corner. The home side were firmly infront and in control and took a commanding lead with little over 10 minutes to go. Place had the ball on the left side and ran at goal before passing to the unmarked Tunmise Sobowale who tapped home at the near post.

Harps had the enjoyable task of simply seeing out the game to go up to third in the table.
