A stoppage time winner by Lee Grace put Shamrock Rovers through to the semi final of the Extra.ie FAI Cup after a 2-1 win over Galway United. The scoreline doesn't tell the whole story with the SSE Airtricity First Division side taking the lead 10 m

It's two league wins from four for Shamrock Rovers as the away side denied Galway United a first home win of the 2017 campaign and bounced back from their own defeat to Derry City.

Gary Shaw scored a double on the night, the first coming in the second minute of the contest while the other arrived following the hour mark.

United grew into the tie in the second half, carving half chances along the way and eventually got on the score-sheet through Ronan Murray's deflected effort from the edge of the area. However, it was to be Shaw's night as he was on hand to bury home the decisive goal in the 64th minute, reacting well to a loosely cleared Conor Winn punch from a free kick with a shot from 18 yards.

The win sees Galway, yet again, fail to conjure a league win over the Hoops - back in 2006 was the last time they managed it.
