Cork City made it seven wins from seven with a 3-0 victory over Limerick FC at the Markets Field.

First half goals from Sean Maguire, Garry Buckley and a second half effort by Gearoid Morrissey propelled John Caulfield's side to the easy win.

Limerick had the better of the early chances and should have went ahead on 13 minutes but Rodrigo Tosi's header went inches wide. Cork soon punished that miss. Tony Whitehead lost the ball in his own half and Stephen Dooley released Maguire, who finished to the net with a cool finish.

That mistake took the wind out of Limerick's sails and the Leesiders could have found the net three more times before Buckley made it 2-0. He got on the end of Kevin O'Connor's deep cross to give Cork a two goal lead at the break.

The victory was completed three minutes into the second half when Morrissey was left run towards the Limerick penalty area unchallenged and he placed a shot from 20 yards past Brendan Clarke.

Limerick tried in vain to get back into the contest but Cork were comfortable winners and stay top of the table.
