Limerick FC's hopes of staying in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division received a boost after they beat bottom of the table Bray Wanderers 2-1 at the Markets Field.
All the goals came in the first 20 minutes with Cian Coleman putting Limerick in front before Ronan Coughlan levelled. Barry Maguire then netted what proved to be the winner for Tommy Barrett's men in the 20th minute.
Coleman had a couple of efforts on goal before he finally put Limerick ahead with a cool finish from 20 yards after he picked up a loose ball from Maguire's deflected pass.
Bray were back on an even keel soon after as Sean Harding's long ball over the top found Ronan Coughlan and he lifted the ball over the advancing Brendan Clarke to square the game up. Limerick went up the other end almost immediately to go 2-1 in front with Ellis' great run and cross from the left.
Both Maguire and Bray defender Sean Heaney stuck their legs out and it was the Limreick man who got the vital touch into the net. Bray were much better after the break but were unable to create any meaningful chances outside of a couple of goalmouth scrambles and Limerick were full value for the victory.
