Limerick FC are now unbeaten in their last five games following a 2-1 win over Galway United at the the Markets Field.

Galway led at the break thanks to Shane Doherty, but Lee Devitt and Kieran Hanlon's second half strikes saw Limerick get all three points.

A poor first half was lit up by some neat footwork inside the Limerick box by Dara Costelloe. He got to the end line and pulled the ball back for Doherty, who fired in from close range.

Limerick were not themselves in the opening 45 minutes, but rectified that after the break. Shane Tracy hit the post with a free kick in the 47th minute and moments later they were level.

Shaun Kelly's ball across was prodded him by Devitt for the young midfielder's first senior goal. Limerick then went ahead in the 59th minute when McSweeney delivered from the right for Hanlon to finish past Kevin Horgan.

Connor Ellis could have given some breathing space in the closing stages, but was twice denied by Horgan. Limerick, however, held on for a win that puts them fourth.
