Limerick FC moved into fourth place in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division table thanks to a 3-0 win over Drogheda United at the Markets Field.

Goals from Rodrigo Tosi and Chris Mullhall put the home side two goals in front at half time and Chiedozie Ogbene's first goal for the Super Blues secured all three points for Willie Boland's side.

The home side made a stunning start to the game when Tosi's header from a Shane Duggan corner put them in front inside four minutes.

That lead was soon doubled thanks to Mulhall, who diverted an Ogbene shot past a hapless Stephen McGuinness. Limerick could have added a third before the break, but had to wait until the 54th minute for that goal. Ogbene held off a couple of challenges before finding the top corner with a strike from inside the penalty area.

Limerick could have added further goals, but hit the crossbar on a couple of occasions in the second half. If it wasn't for a superb performance by Drogheda keeper McGuinness, the winning margin could have been a lot worse for Pete Mahon's side.
