First Division champions Shelbourne celebrated their league win and waved goodbye to club legend Dean Delany in style with a 7-0 drubbing of Limerick.

The home side took the lead in the 32nd minute through Jaze Kabia after the pacy winger ran onto a long ball down the right, cut inside and bore down on goal.

Squaring to a team-mate seemed the simpler option but he slotted nicely past the keeper himself to send the home crowd into raptures.

The lead was doubled two minutes from the break when Conan Byrne, who also appeared to wave goodbye to the club during his substitution, slotted neatly past the dive of Jack Brady after Kabia failed to make clean contact and the ball fell nicely to an unmarked Byrne.

Limerick endured a horror start to the second half as they conceded a penalty that Shane Farrell dinked down the middle, before Kabia slotted past Brady for his second of the game.

Unfortunately for Limerick, the pain wasn't over there. Oscar Brennan grabbed the fifth with a lovely finish into the top corner after Byrne's fizzed cross found him free in the box, before Aidan Friel fired home Kabia's layoff.

Kabia completed his hat-trick and the game's scoring in the 73rd minute when he somehow scrambled Ryan Brennan's cross over Brady's line once again.
