Bohemians secured an important three points thanks to an entertaining 1-0 win over Sligo Rovers.

SSE Airtricity Man of the Match Andre Wright scored the only goal of the game in the final 10 minutes to secure the points for Keith Long's side.

It was an entertaining first-half at the Showgrounds which was dominated by the away side, Bohemians.

Dawson Devoy had the first chance of the match when two fantastic touches from the No.10 saw him beat the Sligo defence but his shot was well saved by Ed McGinty in the fifth minute.

Just minutes later, Kris Twardek's ball into the box caused confusion in the Sligo defence and Danny Grant took advantage but saw his shot cleared off the line.

Eight minutes from the break, Bohemians had their final chances of the half as Grant saw his shot blocked but Sligo failed to clear and Keith Buckley's shot went over the bar.

Bohemians created their pressure in the second-half but it was the home side who had a great chance to take the lead in the 61st minute. Junior Ogedi-Uwokze found space in the centre and Ronan Coughlan made a great run but his shot went wide of the right-hand post.

Four minutes later, Devoy found Andre Wright in the area and after a neat turn, his shot was parried onto the post by McGinty and collected at the second attempt.

That combination finally reaped Bohemians' rewards in the 80th minute. Devoy found space on the right and chipped in an inch-perfect cross for Andre Wright to volley home from six yards out.

It was the only goal of the game as Bohemians closed the gap to Shamrock Rovers at the top of the table to five points.
