St. Patrick’s Athletic easily saw off Bray Wanderers with a comfortable 5-0 victory at Richmond Park on Friday evening, condemning the Seagulls to yet another week of misery.

Jake Keegan got things up and running for Saints, when he prodded home Ryan Brennan’s seemingly goal-bound header early on, before Kevin Toner inflicted further pain on the visitors by nodding home a corner completely unmarked in the box.

Dean Clarke’s directness caused problem for the Bray defence and he was fouled in the area for a penalty. Conan Byrne took responsibility and sent his effort straight down the middle to make it three by half-time.

They didn’t ease off in the second either and Keegan latched onto an excellent through ball to powerfully finish into the roof of the net for four, before Clarke similarly found himself one-on-one with Aaron Dillon to make it five with still half an hour to play.

From then it was basically just a matter of both sides seeing the game out, as Bray remain with just one point at the foot of the table.
