St. Patrick's Athletic secured a second round spot in the Extra.ie FAI Cup after a hard-fought victory over Bray Wanderers. Gary Cronin's Seagulls came into the game at Richmond Park on the back of an impressive victory against Wexford and were full of confidence of causing an upset.  After considerable pressure early on from the home side, Wanderers took the lead five minutes from the break. Shamrock Rovers loanee Dean Williams continued his impressive form to tuck the ball home at the back-post and give Bray the lead at half-time.  Harry Kenny's side came out for the second-half with a renewed purpose and were level in the 56th minute. It was from an unlikely source as Dave Webster burst through and lashed the ball home to level the tie.  Glen McAuley was introduced and he went on to score the winner, his first goal in senior football and his first for the club. It was a neat finish to as he cut in from the left to sweep the ball home with 15 minutes remaining to seal the cup win.
