Dundalk broke their own league points record tally as they picked up another three points with a 2-1 win away to Waterford.

Second-half goals from Patrick Hoban and Ronan Murray secured a win despite Dessie Hutchinson’s late consolation.

Patrick McEleney, Hoban and Dane Massey went close before the opener arrived.

Five minutes into the second-half Sean Gannon did well to cross from the right to found Hoban and he brilliantly headed into the far corner for 1-0.

Three minutes later it was 2-0. John Mountney picked up the ball on the right side and found Ronan Murray to roll the ball into the back of the net to double the lead and secure the points, before Dessie Hutchinson’s late consolation.
