Aaron Drinan (2), Shane Duggan and Dean Walsh were all on target for Alan Reynolds side who picked up their third win of the season against Finn Harps on Friday night.

Caolan McAleer and Niall Logue troubled Waterford early but neither could find a way to goal.

Finn Harps were down to 10 men after 27 minutes when Mark Coyle picked up his second yellow card for a foul on Shane Duggan.

Keeper Ciaran Gallagher was helpless to stop Waterford five minutes before half time. Scott Twine set Rory Feely to cross for Aaron Drinan to header Waterford into the lead.

Despite being a man down, Daniel O’Reilly went close to levelling 8 minutes into the second half but his free kick dropped over the crossbar.

Waterford FC doubled their lead on 66 minutes; Gallagher unable to hold Shane Duggan’s strike and Aaron Drinan was on hand to fire home.

The home side made sure of the points on 73 minutes when Scott Twine pulled the ball back for Shane Duggan and he made it 3-0 from 12 yards.

Dean Walsh made it 4-0 in the final minutes when Izzy Akinade reached to the ball ahead of keeper Gallagher inside the penalty area and he crossed for Dean Walsh to head expertly over the retreating keeper to secure Waterford’s third win of the season.
