Waterford FC ended their first season back in the Premier Division with a 4-1 win at home to Limerick in the RSC.

Waterford FC got off to a dream start after just three minutes; Dessie Hutchinson converting from the penalty spot after John Martin was fouled.

But Limerick levelled on 10 minutes. Connor Ellis did well down the right and he found Colm Walsh-Loghlen to level. The goals didn’t stop as Waterford retook the lead. Dessie Hutchinson’s free kick was met by the head of Garry Comerford and he made it 2-1.

The third goal that the home side deserved arrived 18 minutes into the second period. Izzy Akinade was fouled just outside the penalty area and Dessie Hutchinson’s deflected free kick found the back of the net to make it Seven minutes later it was 4-1 and game over.

Substitute Gavan Holohan, on the pitch just two minutes, crossed from the left toward the penalty spot and John Martin brilliantly headed past Brady for a 4-1 win.
