Waterford FC have one hand on the First Division title after overcoming local rivals Wexford FC with ease at Ferrycarrig Park.

A first-half double from Mark O'Sullivan had the Blues in control at the break and they showed no sign of dropping the intensity after the interval.

Waterford broke the deadlock on 24 minutes when Kenny Browne played a ball into the danger zone, John Martin helped it on and O'Sullivan showed a predator's instinct to knock it in at the far post.

The champions-elect doubled their advantage two minutes before the break, and again it was that man O'Sullivan, this time arrowing a blistering drive to the left-hand corner of the net after the ball dropped to him on the edge of the area.

Waterford continued to give the Slaneysiders the runaround after the change of ends and they eventually made the pressure tell when John Martin grabbed their third with 15 minutes remaining, stroking the ball to the net after good link up play between Patrick Barrett and Garry Comerford.
