Wexford 1-0 Shelbourne

It was lucky number thirteen for Wexford FC as they finally got a league win under their belts by seeing off Shelbourne 1-0 at Ferrycarrig Park.

Thomas Croke's goal in the fourth minute was the difference between the sides and Wexford kept a priceless clean sheet thereafter. The impressive Liam Donnelly sent in cross from the right and Croke turned it into the net beyond Dean Delaney.

Wexford went close to doubling their advantage on the hour, when Donnelly's shot went the wrong side of the post after a good run from Lee Duffy on the left.

Dayle Rooney almost plundered a point for Shelbourne, heading against the bar in the 81st minute but Wexford twice went close to sealing the deal in injury time, with Danny Doyle and Conor Sutton both testing goalkeeper Dean Delaney.
