Bray Wanderers kept their outside hopes of grabbing a play-off place alive with a dominant display against Wexford FC at Ferrycarrig Park.

The visitors led 4-1 at the interval, thanks to goals from Paul Keegan (penalty), Brandon McCann, John Martin and Dylan McGlade, with Danny Furlong replying for the hosts.

Philip Gannon added to their advantage midway through the second-half as they sauntered to an impressive victory. Wanderers were a goal to the good in the sixth minute, when Paul Keegan confidently tucked a penalty into the left-hand corner of the net.

Brandon McCann doubled their advantage in the 17th minute when Dean Williams headed a Jake Ellis cross into his path and he applied the finish from close range. The Seagulls made it three in the 26th minute, with John Martin opening his account for the club in some style, spotting goalkeeper Corey Chambers off his line and finding the net with a sweetly-struck shot from just inside the Wexford half.

The Slaneysiders had a brief glimmer of hope when ace poacher Danny Furlong pounced on a defensive error to poke the ball past Gabriel Sava in the 44th minute, but Bray cancelled that goal out in first-half injury time, as Dylan McGlade gathered a pass from Martin and swept the ball past Chambers.

Wexford tried to find a way back into the game after the change of ends and Sean Roche won back possession but dragged his shot wide of the left post just before the hour mark.

However, Wanderers extended their lead in the 65th minute, with substitute Philip Gannon making an instant impact, running on to John Martin's pass and confidently firing the ball to the net.

John Martin came close to grabbing his second of the game with five minutes remaining but his header was cleared off the line by Darragh O'Connor. Wexford almost pulled one back in injury time when Shane Griffin fired a powerful free-kick on target but Sava wall equal to his effort.
