It was a dramatic day in the SSE Airtricity League First Division as Drogheda United go top of the table with one match to play.

Tim Clancy's side sealed a comfortable 2-0 win over Wexford at United Park whilst Galway United performed last-minute heroics once again to secure a 1-0 win at the Carlisle Grounds.

Bray Wanderers 0-1 Galway United

John Caulfield's Galway are still in the race for the play-offs thanks to a remarkable last-minute winner against Bray Wanderers.

Bray went into the day knowing that if they won and Drogheda dropped points at home to Wexford, they would be lifting the title at full-time and planning for life in the Premier Division.

Whilst they dominated much of the proceedings in the first-half, Galway remained resolute and provided the most dramatic of endings to keep their own promotion prospects alive.

A sensational finish from Carlton Ubaezuonu in the 93rd minute secured the win to see their play-off hopes go to the final day. Galway welcome UCD AFC on Tuesday knowing they have to win to secure a play-off spot.

Drogheda United 2-0 Wexford

It was a straight-forward day for Drogheda United who go into the final day of the season top of the table.

Derek Prendergast gave Drogheda the lead 19 minutes in before Mark Doyle doubled their lead in the 79th minute to secure the win.

Drogheda face the prospect of a trip to Cabinteely on the final day of the season, one point ahead of Bray Wanderers who face Athlone Town and with a superior goal difference.

All matches will take place on Tuesday, October 27 with kick-off at 7.45pm in what will be a dramatic final day of the season.
