Longford Town 2-0 Athlone Town
Longford Town climbed back into third position in the league thanks to a Midlands derby victory against Athlone Town.
De Town sealed the victory in the first-half thanks to two quick-fire goals from Sam Verdon. He struck first in the 40th minute before he added a second just a minute later.
Athlone created chances of their own but couldn't find a break-through as Longford go level on points with Drogheda and just three points off league leaders Cabinteely.
Cobh Ramblers 2-2 Galway United
Cobh Ramblers struck late on to secure a point after a flurry of goals in the last 10 minutes against Galway United.
After a goalless first-half, Charlie Lyons found the net in the 67th minute to put the home side ahead. It looked as though Ramblers would secure the points but nine minutes from time, Francely Lomboto equalised for Alan Murphy's side.
Four minutes later, incredibly, Galway went ahead as veteran Vinny Faherty found the net but in the final minute of the game, Lyons scored again to guarantee a share of the points.
