The SSE Airtricity League has seen a huge increase in attendances in the 2019 season. 

102,041 supporters have attended 56 games so far this campaign with the most attended fixture so far this season, Shamrock Rovers v Dundalk with 4,693 people at Tallaght Stadium.

It has been a fantastic opening to the 2019 campaign in the Premier Division, with Shamrock Rovers currently top of the table. Supporters have been flocking to Premier Division matches this season as attendances have increased on average of 13.5% per game compared with the same series of fixtures last season. 

The average attendance in the Premier Division is 2,686 for the 32 matches played this season. 

The increase is even greater in the First Division where the top eight teams are separated by just three points in the early stages in the 2019 season. Attendances have increased by 42.9% per game compared with the same series of games last season which means the average attendance is 671 at the 24 games played. 

Out of the 20 SSE Airtricity League clubs, 17 clubs have increased attendances compared with the same series of games last season and overall, attendances have increased by 11.3% at this point in the season.
