The SSE Airtricity League has witnessed an overall growth in attendances during the enthralling 2017 season and it is down to the hard work of staff, volunteers and supporters at all clubs in the Premier and First Division.
The Club Awards will help recognise the achievements of clubs in their community and help reward the hard-working people of the SSE Airtricity League, with seven award categories named.
All clubs will be asked to submit details of initiatives on each category and an independent panel will decide the winner of each category which will be announced at a ceremony in October.
SSE Airtricity League Marketing Executive John Mc Guinness said: “We’re delighted to launch the SSE Airtricity League Club Awards. There are so many great examples of initiatives being implemented throughout the league and working in conjunction with our sponsor SSE Airtricity, we want to recognise and award those efforts.
"The league is built on the great work at football clubs up and down the country in their own communities, and without this work, we wouldn’t have a SSE Airtricity League. We hope these awards will go some way to rewarding these efforts.”

The categories for the SSE Airtricity League Club Awards are:-
- SSE Airtricity League Club of the Season
o Award for a club that shows positive development in all areas off-the-field
o Overall club development
- Best Overall Marketing
o Award for a club that shows the best overall Marketing across numerous areas.
o Branding, Advertising, PR, Customer Service, Creativity, Sponsorship considered
- Multi Media Club of the Season
o Award for media optimisation across all multi-media platforms
o Social, Website, Video Content, Imagery and more considered
- Supporters Contribution Award
o Award for supporters that have made the greatest contribution towards enhancing the image of the league
o Away support, displays, behaviour
- Best Family Initiative
o Award for a club initiative aimed at engaging with and attracting families to games
o Family sections, fun days, ticketing initiatives
- Best Match Day Experience
o Award for a club that provides the best supporter experience at matches
o On/off field activities, access to players, comfort, safety, fun
- Best Community Initiative
o Award for a club initiative that shows positive engagement with the club’s community
o Schools programmes, night leagues
