SSE Airtricity League Champions Dundalk have had two players nominated for the mostly award, Brian Gartland and Chris Shields, for their impressive performances during September.

Following his brace in the 4-2 win over Cork City, Bohemians' Daniel Kelly receives a nomination as well as Bohemians defender Darragh Leahy. Waterford's Sander Puri and UCD midfielder Greg Sloggett make up the six nominations for September.

SSE Airtricity League Player of the Month nominations - September

Brian Gartland (Dundalk): Three clean sheets in four games for Dundalk with the centre half particularly impressive during the 1-0 win over Cork City at Turner’s Cross.

Chris Shields (Dundalk): Scored the winner away to Cork but once again drove his side on with controlled performances from midfield as Dundalk also booked their place in the Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup final.

Daniel Kelly (Bohemians): Netted a brace at home to Cork, including one superb individual goal, and was a real threat for Bohs as they won four out of five games in all competitions.

Darragh Leahy (Bohemians): The young left back has been consistent all season and continued that form in September, despite conceding a controversial late penalty in the FAI Cup semi-final.

Greg Sloggett (UCD): The midfielder impressed in the FAI Cup quarter-final win over Waterford and looked assured in the semi-final defeat to Dundalk.

Sander Puri (Waterford): The Estonian netted winners against Bray Wanderers and Sligo Rovers in both of the Blues’ league games last month.
