The SSE Airtricity/SWAI Player of the Month nominees for August have been confirmed.

St. Patrick's Athletic defender Jordi Balk has been nominated for the award having only signed for pats in July from Dutch club FC Oss whilst Ronan Murray has been rewarded for his six goals during the month with a nomination.

SSE Airtricity/SWAI August Player of the Month nominees

Jordi Balk (St Patrick’s Athletic): The Dutch defender has settled in without fuss and looked extremely impressive at the heart of the defence.
 
Trevor Clarke (Shamrock Rovers): Has stood out again this month as a major attacking threat from left back for the Hoops.
 
Ronan Murray (Galway United): Scored three goals in the league, including brace against relegation rivals Finn Harps, as well as hat-trick against Killester in Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup.
 
John Mountney (Dundalk): Right winger has enjoyed his best spell in the team this season and also added goals, two in the league and one in the FAI Cup, against Derry City
 
Michael Duffy (Dundalk): Has really impressed on the opposite flank to Mountney with some blistering display of pace and skill.
 
Barry McNamee (Derry City): The player who makes Derry tick, netted a sublime lob against Shamrock Rovers in a vital win at Tallaght Stadium.
