The SSE Airtricity/SWAI Player of the Month nominations for the month of July have been announced.

Six players have been nominated for the award with both Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers receiving two nominations each.

The nominations are as follows:-

Gavin Bazunu (Shamrock Rovers): The 16-year-old goalkeeper built on his excellent performances in June with a penalty save against Cork to keep another clean sheet. Also excelled for the Hoops in two Europa League games with AIK.

Michael Duffy (Dundalk): The Dundalk winger continued his exceptional form last month, both at home and in Europe, with four assists and a stunning volley against Levadia Tallinn.

Sean McLoughlin (Cork City): The centre back has risen to the challenge of becoming a first team regular and his confident displays last month show why he has become such a prominent figure in the champions’ defence.

Ally Roy (Derry City): The Candystripes won two of their three league games, with Roy scoring twice, including the winner against Limerick. In the Europa League, the forward also scored as Derry beat Dinamo Minsk away from home.

Chris Shields (Dundalk): Unbeaten in the league, Shields’ presence in the midfield has been immense  and he was a key figure in the wins over Levadia Tallinn.

Dylan Watts (Shamrock Rovers): He struck the winner against Sligo, but it was the way he slotted seamlessly into the midfield and his composure in the centre of the park which helped the Hoops go unbeaten in the league.
