Champions Cork City moved level on points with Dundalk on Friday night following a big 2-0 victory over an impressive Bohemian side at Dalymount Park.

The Phibsboro outfit dominated possession for large spells of the game and missed a handful of chances to equalize. This sentiment was echoed by their centre back, Ian Morris, who cut a hugely frustrated figure after the game.

“Really frustrating night again for us and frustrating coming out and talking like this again. We’ve a pain in our backside talking about how well we’ve played but in a week or two it will be forgotten about when you look at the table. You can play as well as you like but the only thing that matters is winning games and points on the board.

“They sat in and we found it difficult to break them down and unfortunately were giving away silly goals at the back and not scoring at the other end, it’s a combination you just can’t have."

Speaking on the goals conceded at the hands of their title chasing visitors, the 31-year old went on to further explain the pain and frustration the squad is suffering at the moment, saying, “It’s another tough one to take.

"Their first was a bit of a fluke, the right back just swings at it and the striker is a whisker way from touching it so it’s a difficult one for our keeper but you look at the chances we had in the first half and could have been one or two up but its just not dropping for us.

“Everyone keeps saying how well we are playing, but the shots were hitting just aren’t going in and the shots they are hitting are!

"So the heads are down at the minute but we have a few training sessions between now and the next game to get focused. With what we have talentwise, I think we should be higher but again its all about results and points on the board and we need to put that right.”
