SSE Airtricity League First Division side Galway United have announced two more re-signings as preparations continue for the 2019 campaign.  Centre-back Maurice Nugent has committed to his fifth season at the club after he made 15 appearances for the first-team last season having progressed through the under-age teams at the club.  Attacker Wilson Waweru has also committed his immediate future to the club after impressing manager Alan Murphy in the under-age structures and he made five first-team appearances for the club at the end of last season.  This follows the re-signing of Conor Melody and Conor Barry last week as the positive news continues for the Eamonn Deacy Park club for the 2019 season.  "Maurice is a really, really ambitious guy, a great professional and a nice kid to boot," manager Alan Murphy told galwayunitedfc.ie. “He pushed on last season. I’m on the inside track in terms of Maurice, last season both as a player and as a manager, I saw all the attributes that he has. "Wilson can play in several attacking positions and is a serious athlete. He has an unbelievable x-factor in terms of his ability and what he can do on the pitch. He has that bit of flair and off the cuff natural talent that we need to hone and try to develop. “Wilson could be another one of those players that could take off and light the league on fire at times. It’s very early days for him and he’s still a work-in-progress." ✍️ | Galway United are delighted to announce that Maurice Nugent and Wilson Waweru have signed new contracts. Nugent, 20, made 15 appearances last season while 17-year-old Waweru, made 5 appearances after his promotion from United's U19 team.
