Finn Harps will play Limerick FC over two legs for a place in the Premier Division after a 3-1 aggregate win over Drogheda United in the promotion Play-Off Semi-Final. Having come away from Drogheda with a 1-1 scoreline, Finn Harps continued their impressive home form, winning 2-0 to set up a date with Limerick, who they beat to get promoted in 2015. Despite a good performance from his side, Ollie Horgan noted that even late in the game, they couldn’t afford to slack off. “We were probably the better side, all in all but the game, we never had it won, even going into injury time," he said. “Sean Brennan had a number of free kicks on the edge of the area, he planted one here back in the summer from further out. “I think we shaded it but it’s fine margins, thank God we came out the right side of it.” Even though a 1-0 scoreline would have been enough to see his side through, Ollie noted that a second goal was definitely needed to cool the nerves. “The second goal was crucial and I think Mikey Place had a great chance, until Nathan Boyle eventually scored it to ease the pressure a little bit but can you imagine at 1-0, with the amount of free kicks and even Paul Skinner coming up for corners.” he said.
